iOS App Development Cost in 2026: What Agencies Charge in the US, UK and UAE

Ask three agencies what an iOS app costs and you'll hear three very different numbers. One says $12,000, another says $90,000, a third won't name a figure until after a discovery call. All three can be honest. The price of an app depends on what it does, how many platforms it runs on, and where the team building it is based.

We've built websites, apps and SaaS products for more than nine years, across over 1,000 projects. This guide puts the 2026 numbers side by side so you can read a quote with some confidence: what agencies charge in the US, UK and UAE, what changes the price, and where you can save without hurting the product.

All prices are in US dollars so the markets are easy to compare. UK prices were converted from pounds at about 1.30, and UAE prices from dirhams at the fixed rate of 3.67.

iOS app development cost by app size

Most quotes fall into four sizes. Here's what each usually includes and what agencies charge for it in 2026.

App sizeWhat it usually includesUS and UK agenciesUAE agenciesTimeline
Simple appA few screens, little or no backend, no user accounts$15,000 to $40,000$5,000 to $12,0006 to 10 weeks
MVPSign up and login, a database, one or two core features, an admin panel$30,000 to $75,000$7,000 to $33,0002 to 4 months
Mid-size appPayments, push notifications, third-party integrations, user roles$75,000 to $150,000$14,000 to $55,0004 to 6 months
Complex appMarketplaces, real-time features, heavy backend, enterprise security$150,000 to $500,000+$55,000 to $110,000+6 to 12 months

For a reference point, the most widely quoted Clutch figure puts the average app project at about $90,780, and most projects on the platform fall between $10,000 and $50,000.

How prices differ in the US, UK and UAE

The biggest swing in any quote is the hourly rate behind it.

MarketPremium agenciesMid-market agenciesOffshore teams
USA$150 to $250 per hour$100 to $150$25 to $60
UK$130 to $230 per hour (London)$78 to $163$33 to $78
UAE$109 to $163 per hour$41 to $123$25 to $49

Once you convert to dollars, US and UK agencies price almost the same. Many established firms in both countries won't take a project below a $25,000 to $100,000 minimum, which rules out a lot of first apps and MVPs.

The UAE market sits at roughly a third of US prices. Dubai has a large, experienced agency scene and most local teams work in English, so for many businesses it's the best value of the three.

What we charge

We price every project in US dollars, the same for clients in all three markets.

App sizeViral Web Solutions price
Simple app$7,000 to $32,000
MVP$9,000 to $60,000
Mid-size app$16,000 to $120,000
Complex app$57,000 to $400,000

Our starting prices sit just above entry level in the UAE, and even our largest builds come in about 20 percent below what top US and UK agencies charge. Where your project lands in the range depends on the features, integrations and platforms in the scope. Every project still gets a written scope, design before development, QA on real devices, and a handover your own team can work with later. If you want to see where your idea lands, talk to our mobile app team and we'll scope it with you.

What drives the cost of an iOS app

Two apps with the same number of screens can differ in price by five times. These are the things that move the number most.

  • Features and logic. Logins, payments, chat, maps and offline mode each add design, development and testing time. A feature list is the single best predictor of cost.
  • Backend and integrations. An app that stores user data needs a server, a database and an admin panel. Connecting to a CRM, an ERP or a payment provider adds more.
  • Design. A clean design built on Apple's standard components is far cheaper than custom animation and illustration on every screen.
  • Security and compliance. Health and finance apps need encryption, audit trails and compliance work that a simple booking app doesn't.
  • Who builds it. Team location and seniority, as the rate table above shows.

iOS only, Android too, or Flutter?

Building one native iOS app and one native Android app means two codebases, two sets of tests and two teams to keep in step. A cross-platform framework like Flutter builds both from one codebase.

Most 2026 estimates put Flutter at roughly 25 to 45 percent cheaper than two native apps. For most business apps, booking tools, marketplaces and internal tools, users can't tell the difference. Native still makes sense when an app leans hard on device features like advanced camera work, AR or heavy background processing.

What AI features add to the cost

AI features are now one of the most common requests. Most apps use an existing AI service through an API, a chatbot, smart search, recommendations or document reading, rather than training their own model.

Market guides put a simple AI chatbot at $15,000 to $35,000 at US agency rates. At our pricing, adding a feature like this usually costs $3,000 to $8,000. Budget for the AI service's running cost too, which grows with usage. If you're still deciding whether AI belongs in your app, our guide to AI app development cost estimation goes deeper.

The costs after launch

Launch is the start of an app's costs, not the end. Plan for these from day one.

  • Maintenance. iOS updates every year, and libraries and APIs change. The standard budget is 15 to 20 percent of the build cost per year, often a little more in the first year.
  • Apple Developer Program. $99 a year to publish on the App Store.
  • Hosting and services. Servers, databases, email, push notifications and analytics, usually a monthly cost that grows with users.
  • New features. The first version teaches you what users actually want. Keep part of the budget for the second.

How to keep the cost down

  1. Start with an MVP. Build the one or two features that prove the idea, launch, and let real users tell you what comes next.
  2. Write the scope before you ask for quotes. A one-page list of screens and features gets you comparable quotes and fewer surprises.
  3. Use Flutter unless you have a reason not to. One codebase for iOS and Android is the biggest single saving for most apps.
  4. Use proven services. Payments, logins, maps and chat all have mature services. Paying for one is cheaper than building your own.
  5. Ask what's included. Design, QA, App Store submission and a few weeks of post-launch support should all be in the quote. A cheap quote that leaves them out isn't cheap.
